Glastonbury Music Festival founder Michael Eavis believes that the popular event may not make a return in 2021. He recently spoke with ITV News and revealed that it may not come back until 2022.

Although he feels that the festival will not return next year, he will still try to make it happen. “I’m still hoping I’m going to be running next year and I’m going to be moving heaven and earth to make sure that we do.” He continues, “But that doesn’t mean it will necessarily happen, That is just wishful thinking really.”

Although possible that Glastonbury may not return until 2022, the event founder is seemingly unworried about the festival’s future. “No I do not worry at all, I am so confident that it will survive.” This is great news as Eavis had recently revealed in June that there was concern the festival could go broke.

As COVID-19 continues to impact the entertainment industry, there has been much concern as to whether it will ever thrive again. However, Eavis is optimistic and believes that it will only come back stronger. Only time will tell when exactly that will be.
